Skalnik - the top of Rudawy Janowickie

Skalnik, the peak of the Rudawy Janowickie, is a 945 m high hill in the Rudawy Landscape Park. Located in close proximity to Kowary and Karpacz, it is an ideal trip point when visiting the Western Sudetes.

Skalnik, the top of Rudawy Janowickie, is located exactly in the south-central part of Rudawy Janowskie. It stands out not only as the highest peak of this mountain range, but also clearly stands out from the other peaks through the Rudawska Pass and the Bobrzakiem Pass.

Skalnik, the top of Rudawy Janowickie, is crowned with two vertices. The higher one is 944.5 m above sea level and there are remains of a stone observation tower. The lower one - with a height of 944.3 m above sea level, called Ostra Mała - is distinguished by a granite rock terrace. It offers a wonderful panorama of the surroundings. On the trail to the top there is a wonderful granite rock formation - Horses of the Apocalypse.

Skalnik - information for tourists

On Skalnik, the top of Rudawy Janowickie, it is worth choosing one of the marked hiking trails crossing Rudawy Janowickie. The blue trail leads directly to the top of the mountain from the nearby village of Czarnów and from the car park located there. Then it hooks from the second peak of Ostra Mała and continues to the higher one. One-way route should take about 1 hour. and 15 minutes The second route - both the yellow and red trails, also leave the village of Czarnów, but this time from the Pass/Crossroads near Bobrzakiem.

On Skalnik, the top of Rudawy Janowickie, leads e.g. route starting from Przełęcz pod Bobrzakiem. We can then return along the blue trail, making a full circle. Such a route should take about 2 hours. Dear. An alternative to the routes from Czarnowo is the red trail starting at the Średnicą Pass, from here we head to the Wilczysko peak and to Ostra Mała, and from there straight to the Skalnik peak.

Skalnik peak of the Crown of the Polish Mountains has a box with stamps for those who collect the highest peaks. The route, although it has a few slightly steep moments, should not be a challenge for walkers. The picturesque trail, regardless of the season, rewards every effort with a wonderful panorama from Ostra Mała, from which you can admire the Karkonosze Mountains, the Jizera Mountains or the Kaczawskie Mountains.
