The Leaning Tower in Ząbkowice Śląskie is one of the symbols and one of the main attractions of Lower Silesia. The tower is sometimes called "Silesian Pisa". The medieval tower is the highest of the curved towers in Poland. It measures 34 meters, and from its top there is a wonderful view of the surroundings.

Like many cities in this region, whose history begins in the 13th century, Ząbkowice Śląskie is no different. They obtained city rights even before 1287. A standard in Europe at that time were city walls with numerous towers and bastions. And it is here that we can come across a very interesting attraction, namely the leaning tower. The exact dates of its construction are unknown to us. However, we know other data about her.

Leaning tower in Ząbkowice Śląskie is 34 meters high and is considered the tallest building of this type in Poland. Its deviation from the vertical is 2.14 meters and makes you dizzy. For comparison, the leaning tower of Pisa is almost 55 meters high and its deviation from the vertical is 5 meters.

The tower is located at 7, Święty Wojciecha Street. This is one of the streets practically extending from the market square. It is theorized that the tower had a defensive role in the past. Unfortunately, this cannot be confirmed on the 100%, although the conclusions are obvious, as its walls are 4 meters thick.

We do not know the exact reason why the tower is leaning. One of the hypotheses says that the current shape of the "curvature" was influenced by the tectonic tremors of 1590. What is certain, however, is that The Leaning Tower in Ząbkowice Śląskie is open to tourists. It also serves as a lookout tower. There are 139 steps to climb to the top.

In the year 2000 Leaning Tower in Ząbkowice Śląskie entered into the register of monuments and today it looks very impressive, among others, thanks to the conservation work that has been carried out over the last few years. The last ones were made in 2018, and they were undertaken due to cracks in the walls.

The attraction is open daily from 9:30 to 17:30, and the cost of admission to its interior is PLN 12 - adult ticket and PLN 8 - reduced ticket.
