Summer is undoubtedly the most popular time for weddings and receptions. However, not only rain, but also beautiful, sunny weather can give us an unpleasant surprise. We can avoid this if we prepare a proper menu for the heat in advance - so what dishes to choose for a summer wedding? Here are suggestions for the wedding menu during this period.

Wedding menu - what instead of broth?

Polish wedding traditions They have their own rules, but sometimes it's worth breaking them. Although broth is one of the flagship items on the wedding menu, in hot weather it is worth saving guests from sweating over a plate of hot soup. A great replacement for it will be a cold soup - be it traditional Lithuanian or, for example, in our court version with crayfish necks. It is also worth reaching for culinary inspirations in the hot corners of our continent - served cold Andalusian gazpacho, made with fresh, ripe tomatoes, will delight even the most ardent supporters of traditional broth.

Menu for a summer wedding - what's for the second course?

It is not worth choosing hot or baked delicacies, e.g. soups or roasted meats, during a summer wedding. This is an interesting proposition, but rather intended for the autumn and winter months, when the aura outside is begging for something warm at the wedding. Then guests can warm up and prepare for an all-night party. In the summer, such a solution will not please anyone. However, we must give guests something to eat so that they gain strength for fun. How to solve a situation in which we do not want to serve a heavy menu, but at the same time serving a cold dinner is not an option?

During the warm months, grilling becomes the favorite pastime of Poles - so why not combine it with a wedding party? Grilled dishes will be a great variety to the standard menu, and by the way, taking advantage of the summer weather, we can organize part of the wedding party outdoors. If you are organizing an outdoor wedding and a garden party connected to it, a barbecue is a great idea that your guests will love. However, it is worth betting on something more varied than just baked sausage. Skewers, pork neck, vegetables, roasted poultry - all these dishes are much more elegant and suitable for a wedding reception.

It should be remembered that the list of grilled dishes is not limited to sausages and various types of skewers. Of course, when choosing alcohols for a wedding, we are limited only by the budget and preferences. As our wedding expert, Joanna Hoc-Kopiej, points out, when organizing a summer wedding, we must also take into account other factors: “Vodka and sweet drinks and cocktails work best in the evening, when the outside temperature drops a bit. For starters, it is worth serving guests with lighter alcohols, e.g. cool beer, punch or wine. And let's not forget about non-alcoholic drinks!” – emphasizes the expert. Here, traditional coffee is replaced with iced coffee, which, served with ice cream and whipped cream, can also serve as a dessert. In addition, we give up a lot of sweet carbonated drinks, and instead serve fresh juices, compotes and lemonade.

Prosecco Bar will be a great idea. It is a refreshing sparkling wine that guests will be able to pour themselves from a special tap. Such bars are often used during parties outdoor or as an addition to the chillout zone for guests who are tired of having fun.
