The first thoughts that came to your mind when creating your wedding image: a wedding dress cannot be white - because it is not appropriate, or black - because it brings bad luck. Have you ever wondered what it looks like in other cultures? We invite you for a mini trip to different continents!

Dress for a wedding in Poland

The issue of choosing a wedding dress in Poland is currently very diverse. Polish wedding is governed by its own rules, but also many of them are imposed by the Young Couple. In Poland, it is not appropriate to wear a white dress. This color is for the Bride only. Although many brides give up a white wedding dress, and rather assume it ivory and white color optionally in additions, or peach color.

Black dresses should not be worn. This color is usually intended for sadder celebrations and weddings in autumn and winter arrangements.

Bridesmaid dresses are a completely different matter - many brides dictate to their bridesmaids what color of the dress they should wear. Sometimes even a specific shape or pattern is involved. This is to create the perfect scenery in a truly American style. Usually, American bridesmaids wear long dresses in pastel colors – blue or pastel pink.

What dress to choose for a wedding - colors

BLACK COLOUR – in most European countries this color is associated with mourning. Thus, it is reserved for ceremonies such as funerals or wakes. In Poland, there is a superstition that a black dress at a wedding promises tears in marriage. So we can easily offend older people or the traditionalist part of the family with our clothes. However, it looks completely different, for example, in China, where black symbolizes happiness and entering a new stage of life. So remember this if you had the opportunity to be at the wedding ceremony in the land of the Golden Dragon!

WHITE COLOR – for Europeans, this color immediately brings to mind the Bride and the theme of the wedding. In addition, white is associated with purity and innocence. Until recently, only a woman who was a virgin on her wedding day could wear a white dress. In the Far East, white has a completely different connotation and symbolizes… death. An interesting fact are African countries, where white is considered the color of demons, so it is absolutely not suitable for a bride, but rather for a tribal shaman.

VIOLET COLOUR – in Poland often chosen by bridesmaids. Violet is girly and at the same time fits nicely with the bride's dress. Meanwhile, in Thailand, purple is the color of widows. In Mexico, it is the color of mourning. This may surprise us a bit, but hey - every country is a custom!

RED COLOUR – in China and India, it is the most popular shade of dresses for brides. Nothing unusual! After all, red in these parts of the world is associated with success and happiness. The outfit of the future wife should also be of this color. It is different, for example, in South America, where red means mourning. With us, red is associated with passion and it is believed that this color is too provocative for the bride. However, there will probably be amateurs of this shade of wedding dress. Certainly, however, many female wedding guests will be happy to wear this color of the dress.

COLOR BLUE - blue is a fairly cool and subdued color. An interesting fact is that this color in Iran is associated with paradise. At native weddings, it is often reserved for little boys or girls. Brides, on the other hand, often wear blue garters, which is supposed to bring a long and happy marriage. Blue symbolizes harmony and peace, so it will be perfect for women with a girlish type of beauty.

These are just a few of the most popular shades for weddings and receptions. If you are still wondering how to dress for a wedding, maybe a good alternative would be to combine different colors. “Recently, due to the fashion for pastel colors, dresses in shades of: powder pink, cream or muted mint – both among brides, bridesmaids and wedding guests. You can always choose an outfit with patterns: e.g. flowers or polka dots. Let it be fun - after all, a wedding is a time of joy and happiness! Just remember that your choice should not be too frivolous (you're not going to the beach, after all) and that the outfit should be quite elegant. It is a sign of respect for the Bride and Groom and the entire ceremony,” emphasizes Joanna Hoc-Kopiej, a wedding expert at Dwór Korona Karkonoszy.

Jumpsuit or wedding dress?

Recently, many trends also indicate the presence of jumpsuits at wedding salons. Ladies absolutely love jumpsuits! They are comfortable, beautiful and every lady looks refined, elegant and phenomenal in them! The jumpsuit can also be worn after midnight, then it is a more comfortable form of the dress.

Overalls can have an open or closed top, open back, tapered or completely wide legs. What does it mean? The jumpsuit can be individually adjusted to your own figure! This is a wonderful proposition for women who want to hide some of its shortcomings or those parts of their body that they do not like very much.

Regardless of whether the dress for the wedding will be patterned, colorful, floral or uniform, or whether you choose a jumpsuit, you should feel comfortable in your outfit. Also remember that your outfit should not be too provocative - especially in church, pay attention to too exposed necklines, backs or shoulders. Then it is enough to throw on an elegant scarf or coat. Remember that all accessories, shoes, makeup and hairstyle should match the overall image of the styling.
