A very safe solution will be fabric trousers and a shirt or a knee-length dress, and a jacket that can be easily rolled up and put in a backpack if the party turns out to be less formal. In the case of a surprise event, flat shoes, though elegant and with covered toes or heels, will be more appropriate. In winter, a down jacket on top will be just fine, in case it turns out that the boss has planned unexpected integration workshops in the mountains or sports competitions.
