From the observation deck on its top there is a wonderful panorama of the city. Opole is also worth attention Town hall, built in the 19th century on the model of a Florentine palace. While walking around the Old Town, it is also worth paying attention to Avenue of Polish Song Stars.
Gothic Basilica of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross stands on the site of a wooden church from the 11th century. In addition, in Opole we can admire several baroque temples: Church of the Holy Trinity, Church of Our Lady of Sorrows and St. Adalbert, Church of St. Sebastian or the Church of St. Alex. The Old Synagogue, the building of the Main Railway Station and the remains of the defensive walls are also worth seeing.
We also have a chance to visit the city Opole Village Museum, a wonderful open-air museum showing rural life in these areas in the past. And if you are interested in the life of the townspeople, it is worth going to The townhouse next to the Market Square. This exhibition consists of 5 apartments, where furniture styles and complete interior design from 1890 to 1965 are presented.
However, Opole is not only monuments - the so-called the green lungs of the city are the islands of Bolko and Pasieka on the Oder. You can relax and walk there, and also see the zoo with about 300 species of animals.
